Perceptions start early.

We had quite a weekend (more on that later), spending a LOT of time in the car. While doing so, we got on the subject of teachers. Those Tyler likes, those Jackson likes and well, substitute teachers. Jackson goes on to mention he recently had a substitute teacher with long hair and was really cool. In fact, the teacher told the kids just last week that he was once in a REAL rock band and played the guitar. Jackson sounded somewhere between amazed and worshippy when he got quiet for a moment and said "..... well, I guess that explains why he always wears sneakers."
